TREVOR JOHN TOWNSEND, C.P.O.

Trevor is a native of Bakersfield and as the son of VIPO's founder (now retired) Barry Townsend, he literally "grew up" with the company. Now co-owner and CFO of VIPO, Trevor graduated from UCLA in 2001 with a B.A. degree in English, and completed his certification in Prosthetics at CSUDH in 2003. Trevor then attended Northwestern University in Chicago, where he received his certificate in Orthotics in 2004.

Trevor completed his residencies at the University of California at San Francisco Medical Center, Orthotic and Prosthetic Center under the tutelage of AOPA President, Walter Racette, C.P.O. He returned to VIPO in August of 2006 as an American Board Certified Orthotist and achieved his American Board Certification in Prosthetics in 2007.

Trevor enjoys spending time with family and friends and finds great fulfillment in helping others.

WILLARD FIVE WILSON, C.P.

Willard started his prosthetic and orthotic training in 1965 at Bakersfield Orthopedic Appliances, serving as a Prosthetics and Orthotics Assistant. After several years service he was made eligible to sit for the national ABC certification exam. Willard “Five” Wilson achieved his American Board Certification in Prosthetics in 1978.

He earned his AA degree at Bakersfield College in 1981. Willard then completed the Prosthetics and Orthotics program offered through UCLA University Extension Department of Continuing Education in Health Education from 1971 to 1984.

Willard likes to claim that he started in prosthetics “when they were still made of wood!” Willard's many years of experience truly make him an asset to VIPO.

AVA HERBRICK, C.P.O.

Ava is the Manager-Practitioner for VIPO’s office in Newhall, California and is an American Board Certified Prosthetist Orthotist. After obtaining her Bachelors of Science degree in Health Science from California State University, Long Beach, she completed her Orthotic training at Rancho Los Amigos Research and Education Institute in Downey, California. Subsequently Ava acquired her prosthetic education at California State University, Dominguez Hills.

With over 15 years of experience in orthotics and prosthetics, Ava has extensive background in pediatric and rehabilitation care having worked at both Shriners’ Hospital for Children and Rancho Los Amigos Rehabilitation Hospital for several years. An interest in the integrity of the orthotic and prosthetic field led her to become a member of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists as well as a member of the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics Exam committee.

MELISSA GARCIA, CMf

Melissa Garcia joined VIPO's Bakersfield office in 2005 as our Patient Coordinator. Melissa’s natural caring nature has grown into a strong interest in health care and she is now VIPO's ABC Certified Mastectomy Fitter and compression garment fitter. Melissa is also working toward obtaining her ABC certification as an Orthotic Fitter.

For our post-mastectomy patients, Melissa's goal is to fit each woman with the best products and most natural breast forms and bras possible, to restore comfort and confidence following their breast surgeries. She also fits patients with compression therapy products (for the treatment and prevention of venous disease, deep vein thrombosis, and lymphedema) and all types of bracing and orthotic solutions.

A native of Santa Clarita Valley, Melissa is now happily settled in Bakersfield with her husband Faustino and three dogs.
